Sat 6th December - Milton Keynes parkrun
Course Description
Starting on the path between Campbell Park and Willen Lake we follow a single clockwise lap heading along the canal before turning towards the lake and up the famous Zig-Zags before hitting the north lake with a right turn, then left to run though the centre of the lakes and circling around the south lake to finish on the tree-lined broadway by the water sports centre.
Facilities
Toilets are located at the One4Six cafe. There are bike racks here too, and there is a children's playground nearby. Other bike racks are located near the model railway.
Location of start
The start is on the path that links Willen Lake (South) and Campbell Park. This is in the Newlands area of Milton Keynes, beside Gulliver's Land theme park. This path is part of National Cycle Route 51. Look out for the mass of runners.
Getting there by road
From M1 Junction 14 or the A5 (Central Milton Keynes turnoff), follow the A509 (H5 Portway) until you reach Pagoda roundabout. Take the exit south onto V10 Brickhill Street. The largest car park is found by turning left at the second roundabout, Lakeside. Alternate parking is found turning left at the first roundabout, Newlands, which is ideal if you are heading to the cafe afterwards. Further parking is found turning right at Newlands roundabout, and right again into the Cathedral of Trees car park. All 3 are pay and display, so make sure you bring change.
Further details
If you have a club shirt please wear this, and we will do a group photo at 8.45am, near the start line.
As normal we will cheer all club members home, and if your still energetic after your run, it would be nice to run back and support others.
Many attendees will go for breakfast afterwards. This will probably be at the Lakeside (Greene King) pub, on site. Please let us know when booking on if you will be joining for food as well?
Many thanks,
DC
