THE START TIME OF THIS SESSION IS 18:15. That's Six, Fifteen! Not 18:00, not 18:30. We'll see who pays attention to detail/reads the session description text.
This session is similar to the figure 8 sessions put on previously near the Slade.
Please note torches are now mandatory on evening club runs, as it will be too dark to see without them by the end of the session - head torches, chest torches, even hand held torches, are all acceptable, as long as you can see where you are going using them.
Meeting at the The Old Gas Works Car Park (same place as Tuesday/Wednesday club runs).
The session starts with a flat 1 mile warm up run along Eastern Way and up the Black Path, turning off before the bridge.
The route for the main session is a figure of 8 shaped route containing uphill sections.
We will start by going uphill on Daneholme Avenue, turning left, going downhill on The Willows, turning right, uphill on The Firs, turning right, downhill on The Willows once again, turning left this time to start another lap.
Key to remember is that you have 2 x downhills both on The Willows, and 2 x uphills (1 on Daneholme Avenue, 1 on The Firs), to complete 1 lap/the figure of 8.
We will continue in this direction for 25 minutes. The finish point will be the top of The Willows, so 25 minutes and then the next time you get to this point, where Daniel will be waiting to group everyone back together.
Please be safe whilst running this route. I'd rather you ran it slower and cautious, than fast and reckless. These are fairly quite roads. Please be vigilant of cars coming both into the roads, or leaving drives or curbs outside houses, and also courteous to pedestrians who may also be sharing the paths with us (slow down, and pass carefully please). The surfaces on some parts of the course aren't great (there is some pot holes and cambered surfaces), so please take care where you are running.
After the 25 minute main session, once all regathered at the place at the top of The Willows, we will take a slow and steady jog down Ashby Road to the Old Gas Works Car Park, where we will do stretches for those that would like them.
