Meeting at 6.30pm in the Peppermill car park we will be doing an intervals session around the Grange estate. This is a session suitable for everyone, whatever your ability. You run as hard (or not) as you want to. Faster runners get to go further and we all regroup after each effort.
As this will be a mostly ON ROAD session, please wear something bright or high viz so you are visible to vehicles at all times, no ninjas please!!
We will warm up as a group by slowly running around Christchurch Drive, onto Badby Road West and then Yeomanry Way to the start point just after Gable Close on the grassy area at the bottom of Staverton Road, where we will regroup.
The session will be ten, one minute intervals each followed by a one minute rest period (this is a twenty minute interval session) around the Grange, starting off at the bend at the bottom of Staverton Road/Thames Road - please take a look at the link to the route below.
We will be running on the road for the intervals and at all times you must run facing oncoming traffic as per the Highway Code.
When each interval has finished we will regroup, with the faster runners looping back and going to the back of the pack, preparing for the next interval until we finish. To regroup please cross the road and run facing oncoming traffic until you reach the back of the back where you will cross the road and regroup. We will do this until all of the intervals have been completed, after the last rest period, we will regroup and will return to the Peppermill car park at a pace of your choosing.
I will take my whistle to alert runners to the start and end of each interval, however if you know how to program intervals into your sports watch that would be helpful!
During the intervals you should be pushing yourself as much as you can, with the rest period being a jog or fast paced walk.
