Venue/HQ: East Carlton Countryside Park, Corby, LE16 8YF. There is ample parking.
Start: The race starts at 7.45pm. The start line is where Wire Lane changes to Church Lane, and is about a 5-10 minute walk from the car park/toilets, so do not leave it until the last minute to arrive at this one.
Route Summary: One lap on country roads. The course is hilly.
Route Detailed description: It starts uphill going past the church, up to and then alongside the A427. You then turn left down the aptly named road, “The Hill”, and after the mile marker, go down to and through Middleton village, Make the most of the next couple of miles on Ashley Road, as these are nice and flat. After 3 miles, you turn left and have 2 hills to face - one that you can see immediately after turning, which you go up, and are then rewarded with a following downhill. The second/final uphill is hidden in the trees - it starts gradual, but soon turns into a short sharp uphill of around 150 metres in length, and passing back through the start line. Once up this steep section, you are then retracing the start once again, although it feels tougher/more uphill at this period of the race. You will turn into East Carlton Country Park after passing the Church, and then have about 400 metres until you cross the finish line.
On the night: Please wear your club kit, especially if entered affiliated. There is normally a photo on the main road in the park (about 100m from the finish) about 15 minutes before the off. If you have entered any of the EMGP series, use your series number. Otherwise, your number will be available for collection on the day.
As normal we will cheer all club members home, and if your still energetic after your run, it would be nice to go back and encourage others, but make sure you don't get in the way of other runners, and follow any marshal or event instructions.
Do not race if you have been unwell. Always follow marshals instructions. It is the runner’s responsibility to provide their own water or refreshments during the race. Water is provided at the finish.
Spectators: welcomed
Presentation: At approximately 9pm, after the race in the East Carlton Cricket Club
Results: Results will be posted on the EMGP website almost immediately after the race.
